TRANCES OF YOUR PROPOSED STATURE

 

Num 24:4 - He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open, 

16 - He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open

The word Trance is derived from the Greek word (ekstasis) meaning a displacement of the mind that is bewilderment, ecstasy; be amazed. The condition expressed by this word is a mental state in which the person affected is partially or wholly unconscious of objective sensations, but intensely alive to subjective impressions which, however they may be originated, are felt as if they were revelations from without. They may take the form of visual or auditory sensations or else of impressions of taste, smell, heat or cold etc.

The English Dictionary defines it as a dazed or unconscious condition; (consciousness) a state of concentration, awareness and is focus that filters information and experience; for example, meditation etc. While according to Oxford Dictionary, something which one has or suspects to have seen or experienced before, especially when that is not the case.

I have once read the blog of a gifted writer, publisher and web designer – Dr. Toyin H. Obafemi, on Déjà Vu; a French name given to define the state at which you see yourself (in the likelihood of a trance) on occasions or events that occurs as though you have been there before or re-occurs as your past coming to reality again. 

In fact, this state gives you infallible proof of being in such picture before as you will vividly see and incur evidences on those present, the event occurring, words being said etc.

Well, that is a division of experiences many of us go through. Such and many others like trance, vision (Acts 10:3), revelation (Rev 1:1), dreams (Acts 2:17) and sometimes inspirations are spiritual propellants into past, present and future occurrences for clarity. 

Their manifestations are interwoven or interrelated, and are demonstrated in or to men due to the operations of the Spirit and deliberations or desires of men, mostly when they want to or are already engaging in the things of the Spirit. It takes maturity of the spirit in them, for men to be conscious as they experience them. 

(Acts 12:9-11- And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. 

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.).

Although they aren’t listed by Apostle Paul as the gifts of the Spirit (because they are subjects or elements that the gifts of the Spirit implement for manifestation), but they are mostly regarded as foundations and attachments to prophecy and word of knowledge. 

Now, I will only be specific in relating and revealing but a few on the operation of trance (1Cor 12:6-7).

Acts 10:9-10 - And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance; 

11:5 - I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me,  

22:17-18 - And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a Trance. 

Although the cases of Apostle Peter’s and Apostle Paul’s experiences were based on clarity and understanding of their mission to come and deliverance, nonetheless, trances (and its subjects mentioned above) are not limited to one way or specific operations and manifestations (1Cor 12:6). 

Such like is your intended stature, purpose and height you are to attain and fulfill in the spirit and in life. 

Here is our area of concentration. Have you been into trances that reveals your proposed stature? Have you dreamt or see visions of the purpose you are to fulfill in life? 

Has it occurred to you (like mine), that the Spirit of God opened your spiritual eyes to who you are going to be in days, months and years to come and the capacity, potentials and dimensions the future you is maximizing is so exclaiming (even as men are being mightily blessed) but you are yet a babe with visibly few potentials and capacity compared to the future you? 

Do you actually fear you could reach up to that stature? Do you have any courage that things would fall in place? Does that mean, you have nothing to do, fold hands together and be idle with the hope of attaining that height?

Trances and its manifold subjects are spiritual elements the Holy Spirit use to bring men out of confusion into clarity (Acts 10:34 - Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons). 

To tell us more of what God intended to do at the same time, the plan of the cohorts of darkness. They are either given to admonish, quicken, revive, strengthen, assure of victory, know God’s will and move; for us to prepare, plan ahead, strategize and be vigilant in order to attain that height or come into the picture He has shown us.

They are not meant for us to be boastful about, becoming empty barrels making a lot of noise to men, to the extent that we lose or come short of God’s intention; but that we are obedient and build up the capacity and potentials needed for us to carry out the task set before us even as we grow up to stature for the testimony of His revelation (Acts 10:44 - While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.).

It is expected of us to seek God, trust Him and play our part with diligence and consistency for us to build up ourselves and be obedient to His instructions (Pro 22:29 - Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.,). 

Remember, it is not because of confusion but clarity. The real ‘you’ the Lord wants you to be should not be hidden from you neither should it be a mystery that is not unveiled to you; likewise as stagnancy is not expected of the growth of a child, also blindness is not expected of a man with sight. 

If you have not seen and have not known who you are, who you want to be and what you have been called to do; require it of the Lord and it will be revealed to you. Lives and generations are waiting and depending on your exploits and upgraded stature, don’t you dare fail and let them down! We would be many!!!
