Gen 4:10 (NIV) - The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground".
The first bloodshed occurred when Cain killed his brother, Abel and thus, results in the first blood cry of vengeance (revenge/judgment). On a norms, according to God's system of operation, the earth (ground) is meant to bear the witness of man's natural death and not to bear witness of manslaughter (majorly the innocent) by the process of bloodshed.
The earth wasn't and isn't meant to be stained with (innocent) blood because blood defiles the earth (Num 35:33-34 - So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.).
Cain however, probably buried the blood and the body of Abel in order to conceal (hide) his crime and murder, so that it would be unknown to men (even his parents) and God. Maybe he was ignorant that God sees all and knows all (omniscient) or he wanted to accept his fate of God's judgment.
(Job 20:27 - The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.) It's a pity that the earth rose up against him as a witness to his bloodshed and Abel's blood also cried out for vengeance (being innocent) because the earth attended, attested and gave account of the bloodshed (Ps 9:12 - When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.).
Blood is very significant and important in the agenda of God's redemption of mankind from sin and the old (adamic) nature either symbolic and figuratively (in the Old Testament for atonement, remission, sacrifice, purification, cleansing etc, which are shadows) or specifically in reality (in the New Testament as the atoning blood of Christ).
As blood is very vital, valuable and special to men physically (for its unnecessary loss or insufficiency can result to death), so also it is very relevant spiritually (in order to make the spirit of man that was alienated from God to be alive to God again - regeneration). That was why the first reference to blood in Gen 4:10, though figurative, is highly illustrative of the reverential fear manifested upon the shedding of (man's) blood and the teaching regarding it (Isa 14:20 - Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.).
According to 1Jh 5:6-8 -
[6] AMP:This is He Who came by (with) water and blood [His baptism and His death], Jesus Christ (the Messiah)—not by (in) the water only, but by (in) the water and the blood. And it is the [Holy] Spirit Who bears witness, because the [Holy] Spirit is the Truth.
[7] So there are three witnesses in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are One;
[8] and there are three witnesses on the earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree [are in unison; their testimony coincides].
It is very evident that the earth gave the account of 3 witnesses of Jesus Christ - the SPIRIT (Regeneration - Jh 3:6 - That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.), the WATER (Rebirth/Baptism - Jh 3:5 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Matt 3:16 - And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:, 1Pet 3:21 - The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:) and the BLOOD (Redemption - Matt 26:28 - For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.).
Another bloodshed to be considered is that of Naboth (1Ki 21:19 - And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine. 1Ki 22:38 - And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the Lord which he spake. 2Ki 9:26 - Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the Lord. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the Lord.).
Up till this present generation, men have followed suit the way of Cain, Ahab and Jezebel, and the false Prophets, in shedding innocent bloods. So many are ignorant that these bloods are crying to God, day and night, seeking for vengeance and justice. Others are ignorant of the fact that, there's a Judge avenges the bloodshed of the innocent (Hos 1:4 - And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.).
