Now, back to my first set of questions and understanding feelings more; I'll like you to know that feelings are natural just the way attraction is. That you are attracted to the features of someone (irrespective of who such is) like beauty, character, respect or care, spirituality etc is natural because such fills the comfort space of your desire, passion and interest. But you must understand that feelings don't just happen, it grows.
That it's natural is the foundational stage, what makes it get to a level where you are starting to unnecessarily like the person being around to the extent of thinking about such is a proof that you are nursing or growing the feelings all because you are getting too fond or close with such.
That is why, to some, they might naturally don't have feelings for someone the first time they come across such person (which is right - you don't have feelings for someone by just being attracted, attraction isn't enough) but once they continue to have interest in such's welfare (or the person in theirs) and beginning to get obsessed in seeing or speaking with or having such around everytime, they begin to find such attracted to them and as at such, start growing feelings which at times may be called infatuation.
You see why it's possible for people to have feelings for who they are not supposed to have feelings for; yet they'll tell you they've fallen in love with such. At what point are they missing it and how can they know if it's the right person they are sharing their feelings with, with or without such person's consent?
At first they'll think they are right but with time, they'll find out they might also be trapped in the same web with numerous others, which is not meant to be. Why is that?
One thing most people aren't focusing on is their mindset when they meet or are around people who they are either attracted to or not, if either it's the first time or not. The first thing that should be on your mind whenever you are around people you are fond of or not is "purpose".
Why were you connected with such? Why is he or she here? What are you after? Won't having feelings for such affect your focus, purpose and the person's or people's? What about your relationship with and service to God, your future and destiny? What type of person is he or she and is it pleasant to the ear to have feelings for such? Are you not deceived by the lust of your eyes and flesh? If you have feelings for him or her, what next? Answering any related questions like these will help you guide your feelings. How can you respect other's feelings?
You don't force your feelings on others', even if you found out they don't have feelings for you. At the same time, don't allow anyone to force his or her feelings on you especially when you don't have feelings for such.
Until you get to the point where you should have feelings for the right person meant for you, you'll surely come across people who either you or them may wrongly have feelings for each other. As you respect other's feelings, make sure you guide yours so you won't fall into the wrong hands.
Many find out they have feelings for the wrong person after obeying the deception of attraction - lust of the eyes and flesh. I pray such won't be your portion.
The same process that can get you to start growing feelings is in its opposite the best way to respect other's feelings. Don't get too close or emotionally attached and too fond of, and be careful of unnecessary touch - holding of hands, hugging and doing things together alone, set boundaries.
We are humans and we have bodies that blood flows through that causes sensation including Jesus in His time. The fastest way to grow feelings even though it's deceptive is the touching and being around such alone most times. Beware!
These amongst others, are those principles the virtuous single generals (men and women of faith) in the scriptures put to practices daily during their lifetime including Jesus.
