A destiny brother, a God sent and divinely orchestrated partner in ministry who is also a very close covenant friend of mine - Oyetola Bidemi once asked a question on the whatsapp platform of an intercessor ministry (Holy Ghost Impartation Christian Network aka Boiling Point) after his four weeks teaching on "The Purpose of Redemption" that; If Jesus is God, then why did he said he knew not the time of his coming back?
I gave an answer by the help of the Holy Spirit and also a quite explicit exposition on timing. Few weeks ago, the Holy Spirit led me back into that answer and instructed me to write more on timing and publicly share this topic. If you want the whole answer I have to the question above, contact me and I'll send it to you because the subject of this topic is just a fraction and not the entire whole of the answer to the question.
Man's perfect timing is always termed to be the period of good fortune, when everything is and works perfectly in place for good, when everything in someone's life just suddenly gets all set at a goal, when everything plays out perfectly in order and well arranged in line with the plans of one's life, dreams, aspirations, purpose etc. So, we've come to believe that one's time hasn't started except the commencement of his or her perfect timing but we've often forgotten that everyone's time started when he or she is born into this world. And that time comprises of seasons which of course would either be good or bad (evil) and many more in accordance to Ecc 3:1-8.
This is where we miss it. We oftentimes think God's time is the same with that of men which is absolutely wrong. This is why God's time is always perfect unlike that of man who thinks he would have a perfect time at least once in his lifetime when everything would be rosy and be normal in line with thoughts, plans, patterns, purpose etc. He is however ignorant that time (just like him and creation) was brought into existence by the creator - God (who dwells in eternity) to serve His purpose alone and that he (man) is a major factor in the short existence of time to make that happen.
That is why everyone's time is different, not in respect to time (date, secs, mins etc) itself but to purpose. That is why waiting, the waiting room, the waiting period remains God's forever tool of enlightening man's understanding that He is God of anytime and no matter how we try to bypass or compromise His timing, His purpose remains intact and His timing remains perfect.
God's time is anytime because it's in process, stages or levels and so He uses seasons and time to fulfill His purpose unlike man that wants time to be fast-forwarded, paused, be the same, run at the same speed and frequency and without change.
Understand this and you won't find it difficult to wait, walk, run, act etc in respect to God's timing because it will help you to always prepare and not be idle for that "anytime" God is ready to show up.
Here was my answer to the question I spoke of above:
The question is coined from Mrk 13:32 and Matt 24:36.
God (Trinity) exists and operates before time (the beginning of time is the beginning of the creation of the world - Gen 1:1, Jh 1:1-3); in time (through Man by His Son (soul) and His Spirit) and after the end of time (the end of the world).
Jesus being God, full of the Spirit of God who knows all things by nature (like the Father) does things by perfect timing which naturally is anytime that cannot be comprehended by men and so most times is best to be hidden (preferably using the occurrence and signs surrounding the time) to men because they will only be after that particular time (second, minute, hour, day, week, month or year) without understanding that God's time is anytime.
Also, since a thousand years is like a day before God, it shows that God operates and exists in the now, not in the yesterday or tomorrow like man,and that now is anytime. That's why Jesus was telling parables and teaching men to also be operating, living and having the mindset of in the now like God, to help them watch, ever conscious and ready, and preparing for that anytime of God instead of expecting and running after a particular date and time like they once did concerning the birth of Jesus.
So, Jesus saying He didn't know the time implies that, He did not know (because the Holy Spirit of the Father hids and didn't reveal it from Him, not even to the angels or any man) and He cannot tell by natural timing; all because it will endanger man. That is why He concluded that it is only the Father who by His Spirit knows and can decide the anytime.
The same way the particular time of all that happened from the beginning of creation before the time of Moses and the visions of the future and the revelation of the end of the world; that was made experienced by and given to Moses, the prophets, the Apostles (especially Apostle John) respectively, was hidden from them except the occurrences and signs only.
Jesus because He was in the state of man (though 100% God because He was incarnated by the Spirit of God not man), naturally didn't know everything (the same in relation to all men even believers); He grew in knowledge, understanding and wisdom like a natural man but by the Spirit of God especially according to the books that were written of Him by the prophets and the testimony of God the Father at His baptism and transfiguration. He was made perfect and back to His once eternal nature (like in the garden of Eden - Gen 2:4-22) when He became Christ by death, resurrection and ascension.
For reference Act 1:7 and 1Thess 5:1,2.
