Do you know that, just the way you can't decipher all that God is even though He fully demonstrated His nature of love by becoming a Father and sacrificing Himself (the Soul - Jesus the Christ as His only Son) for humanity; you can't also comprehend all that Love is because God is Love?
Now, let me bring clarity to avoid confusion. What do I mean by the OTHER SIDE OF LOVE? Like everybody else will think, the answer to that question would be the painful side of love or the sacrifices of love or the challenges that may befall one because of love etc. But that's not where my target is, instead it is the most neglected nature of Love - BALANCE.
When you hold a coin or are given a coin what attracts you the most is the two sides (head and tail) but you (like everybody else) almost oftentimes forget about the major place of balance that you hold with your two fingers (horizontally or vertically) if truly you want to have a view of the two sides of the coin without any obstruction by your palm or other fingers.
Just like every scale balance too (beam balance, seesaw etc), what attracts us is the two sides we use to check for balance, we oftentimes forget the pivot, the knife edge, the middle metal holding both plates etc, that makes the check or hold of balance possible. Don't be surprised, love has its own.
That's why I call it the other side, what do I mean? Every weapon that love uses by its nature for the balance of its positivity and negativity such as discipline, chastisement, correction, rebuke, short-term withdraw and refrain of pleasing, giving and every form of pleasing positivity and goodies that love does which in turn makes it look as if it is not love (wicked) or another side of love because at that moment, it looks like the unpleasing negativity of love.
Why do parents in few times desist or refrain from providing or fulfilling the requests of their children, is it because they hate them and are wicked? Is it not because of the love to not make them spoilt, uncultured, undisciplined etc or because those requests will gradually and later affect or kill them? Why does it look as if God is not providing everything we ask immediately from Him in prayers?
Even though He told us to ask because He's always ready to answer, give and provide for us like He always does, why does it look as if He refrains, delays or a portions time to provide answers or solutions to each requests made by every individual? Is it not because of His love (which is not fear unlike humans) not to see us addicted and adapted to one way and dimension of prayer - request, and help us in understanding Fatherhood and Sonship, and all that there is about prayer?
If everyone's desire now is met at once, if there are no poor people, if everything and everyone is equal, do you think this world would be better? Why didn't Jesus feed the five thousands of people the second time (Jh 6:26)? If Joseph and Pharaoh (with God's wisdom) didn't save, and allow the Egyptians to feast for the first seven years of plenty, what would have become the fate of Egypt and neighboring countries for the next seven years of famine?
Do you know that naturally, when we humans are not faced with problems, challenges etc because everything we want and need are with us already; we won't explore and maximize our God given gifts of innovation, creation, invention, ideas, potentials etc and that would make us lazy, and deprive us of purpose?
Now here is a solution offered by the other side of love. It's in three dual phases and they're coined from both the ten commandments (Exo 20) and Apostle John's teaching on Love by ascribing it to God (1Jh 4:20-21).
Respectively, they are: Placing God before men; placing men (others) before oneself; placing yourself last (before the devil) and Pleasing God; pleasing men (others); pleasing yourself.
The other side of love you don't know is that, love balances these three dual phases. For every of your action of love, you must make it is balanced by: Pleasing God and placing Him before men (put God first); after that, Placing men (others) and pleasing them before you do the same for yourself (for selflessness because love is not selfish) but it must be balanced in the expense of not doing that beyond what you can or cannot do for yourself (love your neighbor as yourself; do to others what you'll have or permit others to do to you) because it becomes so difficult to love others than you love yourself (Eph 5:28).
Love is not balanced when you please men and place them before yourself while you are suffering and uncared for; neither is it pleasing and placing yourself before others while they are left suffering and unattended to. They are arranged in the order above to prove that the least love demands is pleasing yourself and the highest demand is pleasing God; while the medium demand is to your fellow men.
It's balanced in the descending order. Everything you do that deprives you of this order is pleasing the devil and placing his works before you, men and God - that's not LOVE.
