Why are you jealous? What are you jealous about? Who are you jealous of? I know it's normal to admire someone who is getting better at something than you are. I know it is natural to not feel okay and convenient with your current status because everyone around you seems to have left you behind.
I know how uneasy it is for you because you are bothered about why things are still the same and not changing or looking exactly the way you want it and all. But is jealousy the solution?
Instead of getting jealous of people and not considering its two side effects on you and the way you will start to see them as if you are not also going to be better like (or than) them; why not consider the solution that will not affect you both?
Thank God for their lives but work, hope and have faith on how better your life will be too now and in times to come. Admire them, it's good; but go further to congratulate and appreciate their successes and much more, compliment or confess positively that you are also going to be better, successful, great etc too.
Everyone's life is under the guide and the jurisdiction of purpose, season and time. Do you know that, those people you are jealous of also have what they have faced or are facing at the back-end?
Do you know the stages, seasons and processes of life they have gone or are going through? Have you asked them closely on what made them who they are and you think they won't have stories to tell?
I believe those questions will help you quench your thirst of jealousy. But much more, let's consider the trinity as a case study.
The Trinity comprises of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; all in one, one in all. On the highest ground of observation, and in respect to human nature, do you know that each constituent or subsequent dimension of God as the Father, the Son and the Spirit is supposed to be jealous?
If jealousy is truly the attribute of God; it is not in the sense of envying each dimension of His personality but in respect to humans not sharing Him with any gods and any form of idolatry.
For more exposition; although each of God's dimension of personality never work or walk alone (that is why God is referred to as the Trinity because He is inseparable in His personality dimension).
but if we are to use human perspective and natural perception in relation to the biblical operation and administration of the Father majorly in the Old Testament, the Son majorly in the Mid(Post and Pre New) Testament and the Holy Spirit majorly in the New Testament dispensations respectively, each should have been jealous of the other when He's not majorly in control of operations.
The Son and the Holy Spirit should have been jealous of the Father in the Old Testament (from creation); the Father and the Holy Spirit should have been jealous of the Son when He came to the world to die and resurrect for the commencement of the New Testament (and the name we all use to pray today); and the father and the Son should have been jealous of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament till today (gifts and fruits).
This of course is impossible because God the Father is the same God the Son and the Holy Spirit. He can't be jealous of Himself.
But instead God in His personality dimension inseparably worked and walked together indistinctively right from the Old and New Testament, till the now dispensation even though we humans think each had His own time of operation and administration; that is why it is said in 1Jh 5:7 that the three bears witness in Heaven.
Let this nature of God in His Trinity dimension (or Tripartite being) be your escape route whenever jealousy is about to arouse itself in your humanity. Don't be like the ignorant Lucifer. Beware!
Join others in their success stories and you won't find men scarce in your own success stories too.
